Inspired by the exercise where I drafted a first to-do-list in order to slowly starting to realize my dream to “Change the world for the better!” I went through our household looking for non environment friendly practices. I found many things that with small means could be improved a lot. Will get to those in a few days and will make sure to share it with you.
But what really struck me, the hopeless romantic, is how the experience of slowly starting to realize the Dream is very far from the pleasant experience that the Dream itself is.
Dreams are controlled by you and will look the way you want them to. As soon as you start digging into your kitchen cupboards to look for environmentally friendly food products, you realize that this is actually hard work and very boring at times. Reading on labels and learning about additives, production methods and produce seasons is nitty-gritty that I normally don’t care for. But of course very important if I want to ever be able to realize my dream of changing the world for the better in terms of environmental awareness. I need to learn and develop.
I am starting to realize why dreaming about changing the world and actually changing it are two fundamentally different things, often not performed by the same people…
There might be a natural paradox between dreaming BIG and being disciplined enough to try to realize your dreams. Or what do you say? Agree?
